Ghanaian popular comedian, Derick Kwabena Bonney, popularly known as DKB, has responded to President Akufo-Addo’s claims that he is the most verbally abused president in Ghana.
The comedian countered the president’s claims by saying that former president Johnny Mahama suffered more verbal abuse and he, President Akufo-Addo is being pampered.
“…if you’re the most abused president, then what will John Mahama say? He was even insulted in some radio stations in Kumasi. If Mahama is to tell his story, you realize that you’re even one of the most pampered”, he stated.
He added that even he, DKB, and popular music stars Wendy Shay, and Patapaa have suffered more abuse than he, President Akufo-Addo.
He said: “I deserve compensation for the abuse my head alone has suffered”
This follows a statement made by Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, that he is the most abused president in Ghana. The president, who has recently received a Doctorate honour last week, at the University of Cape Coast expressed his concern about his presidency being constantly bad-mouthed, vilified with harsh criticism from Ghanaians.
“I find it ironic that the presidency of a man who has been and continues to be daily the most vilified political figure of his generation can be accused of presiding over a culture of silence”, he stated.
This has resulted in some Ghanaians voicing their thoughts about the president’s statement, with counter statements here and there.
