Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has charged electorates to kick the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of government.
As part of his campaign tour in the Western Region, he made a stop at Effie and held a meeting with a Zongo group there.
During the meeting, he called on the electorates to also show up in their numbers, be vigilant and kick the NPP out of government. According to him, the NPP has thrust a lot of economic difficulties on the ordinary citizen, hence it has become prudent that he is voted back into power so he will cease what he calls a struggling country caused by the Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“We all have to show up on elections day, be vigilant this year and vote for the NDC and kick the NPP out of government so that the struggles they have put us in will leave” Mahama stated.
In addition, Mahama called on the citizenry, to consider their living conditions and cast a good ballot.
“On election day, before you cast your vote, consider your condition of living and cast a good ballot,” he admonished.
According to former President Mahama, today, businesses have slowed down tremendously because of the financial difficulties the country finds itself.
“Today, businesses really don’t go well as it should, business is running slow because of the difficult financial situation we face currently as a country”.
Mr. Mahama further mentioned that as part of their plans, they are planning on an aggressive job and entrepreneurial programme in both the private and the public sector.
“Our plans include an aggressive job and entrepreneurial programme in the public and private sector; that will deliver a minimum of 250,000 jobs every year. A total of 1,000,000 jobs across the country by the end of my term in office in 2024. We will put Ghanaians to work to earn a decent living” he mentioned.
Meanwhile, during the same campaign tour, the former President John Dramani Mahama also promised to free galamsey operators who were jailed under the watch ship of the current government if he is voted into power.
After making a stop at Odum Banso in the Mpohor Constituency in the Western Region on Thursday, October 22, 2020, Mahama revealed that it was unfortunate that foreigners are pardoned for the same crime yet Ghanaians are rather imprisoned for the same mining offence.
