Wife of murdered Mfantseman MP replaces husband as successor in Parliament

The wife of the murdered Mfantseman Member of Parliament (MP), Mrs Ophelia Hayford has been selected by the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to replace her spouse who gruesomely murdered a week ago.

As a result of the acceptance by the party, she is now legally mandated to stand on the ticket of the NPP to contest for the seat in the constituency.

This was confirmed by the party’s First Vice Chairman in Mfantseman, Yaw Berchie Nuako who was speaking in an interview with Citi News.

According to him, the wife of the murdered MP is the best candidate to retain the seat for the NPP in the constituency. He also added that Ophelia was not selected just because of the death of her husband, but because she has been a great support to her husband especially in terms of logistics.
