Chelsea legend, Frank Leboeuf has revealed that Chelsea youngster, Mason Mount is a leader after the youngster’s sublime shot glided peacefully on the grass to break the virginity of the cagey encounter between Liverpool and Chelsea yesterday, 4th March 2021.
Mason Mount whose goal in the dying embers of the first half proved to be the decider for the game has been praised by former Chelsea Centre back, Frank Leboeuf who sees him as a leader after some scintillating streaks of performance from the young lad, whom many loved when he was under former manager, Frank Lampard.

According to Frank Leboeuf Mason Mount is an absolutely fantastic player who is very young and has been very successful under two different coaches in a short space.

“He [Mount] is absolutely fantastic — [and] he’s still a young lad, we shouldn’t forget that,” the former Blues centre-back told ESPN FC. “He [has played] under two different coaches, and he’s been perfect — and he’s a leader. He’s the kind of player that makes the difference” he added.
He however added that although Timo Werner is picking up it seems Hakim Ziyech is still struggling to find his feet in Tuchel’s team.
“But up front, even if you can say [Timo] Werner had a good game and [Hakim] Ziyech is still struggling, there is one who always gives his best and does very very well, that is Mason Mount,” he added.
Leboeuf was full of praise for how he took on Liverpool experienced defender, Fabinho before he sublimely placed the low shot into the corner of the goal post.
“What he did to Fabinho, how he found the corner, how he scored the goal, he shows that he’s already matured and always makes the right decision” he added.
Mason Mount is one of the few players to have scored three goals under Thomas Tuchel since he took over from Lampard.
